Friends that travel together, stay together.

Friends that travel together stay together

I’ve read many a times that travel makes you awesome and the time to be awesome is NOW! After enjoying so many holidays and vacations in my life; either with my parents and siblings when I was young or with my family after I got married; be it with my children and husband or in-laws or with my co-sis’s or the one-nighters with my friends in the organizations….of which I have been a part of many, ……the list is simply endless!

The twisting part in the holiday came when I went to Goa with all my girl friends and it would be needless to say……..that was the bestest holiday I ever had in my entire span of 47 years.

Goa was not a new destination for any of us, but the beautiful times we had, when we went out to that favored, panoramic, bustling city in November 2017, gave us a new high and we could see all our happy hormones getting activated and charged-up fully. My cousin’s splendid villa in North Goa, where we, a bunch of 8 fun-filled, like-minded girls stayed, enjoyed our 3 day trip which was full of funny incidents. Laughing out all the time, doing the things we have never done before helped create a special bond amongst us. Wearing what not, posing for pictures, getting our first photo-shoot done, starting the day by wine, going to all the happening places, seeing and drooling over the young, energetic crowd, eating home-made parathas and upma, going all the way in different directions to look for Toni’s wine and puchkas without potatoes, borrowing things from each other, doing agreeable yet stupid stuff beside the pool and talking sweet little nothings, late night outings made the trip very-very special. The casino trips were much awaited and getting an entry to one of the gambling dens absolutely free was like an icing added to our already delicious cake. Some of us, including yours truly, learnt the knack of black jack in this trip only.

Everybody was just pure themselves. No show-offs, no vague extravaganza! If one friend would say, “No, we’ll not do this today but do it tomorrow (owing to the fact that Wednesdays were ladies night outings major discount); the entire flock would obey to that so called command.

It was a pure bliss, the memories of which still make us giggle with joy.

After Goa happened to us, many of my other friends, not really friends but I would say my acquaintances, used to ask me that how could I manage to make such a group of friends that look alike and more than that are so much like minded? “Are these your husbands’ friends’ wives?” to which I used to reply, “No the husbands are friends because we gel well”.

Finding a friend is a good fortune and keeping them intact is really a blessing and God blesses only His few Chosen Ones. Not everyone can be as lucky as we are!

Touchwood! Somehow, when we meet each other, we think, “What! You too! I thought I was the only one out here!”

Our friendship ultimately makes us who we are.

Whenever I meet them, I see a new energized self!

In short, in you, I find a second self!

Raising a toast to our friendship!

Ma...Our Walking Miracle!

Ma:   My mom is a walking miracle. An epitome of simplicity, I take pride in what she is. Sometimes, I feel if I become half as strong, as talented as she is, I would be a class apart!   In my teenage days, my friends used to find reasons for me to host a party. Reason was simple….my mom’s culinary skills and warm hospitality. She was too good with her cooking, presentation and served with love. When we used to get soft drinks where ever we went, she used to impress us with her ‘kairi-pudina’, ‘bel sherbat’, fresh tomato juice etc. Her mouth watering chaats with home made papri and raj-kachori have satiated so many taste buds. Master Chef was not aired those days otherwise she would have been a winner with a big margin. Not only mine and my father’s friends, but my in-laws family can vouch for her creativity. While hosting dinners for her loving samdhis, she would make sure, in an array of snacks, no snack is repeated the second time. Her daal halwa was to die f...

Bhagwad Gita # Chapter 2# Paraphrased~ Reshape yourself with the power of your will!

Bhagwad Gita~ the song sung by God himself on the earth. It’s very truly called the manual of life. I am God’s chosen one because He guided me through the knowledge and I have enjoying reading the scripture. Now here I go paraphrasing the 2 nd chapter which forms the essence of the Holy Book. I have written what I understood. There’s much more to it as when I read it over and over again, I realize there’s a never-ending learning phase about life. Krishna explains that we should do 3 things before we get the solution for our seeming problems in interacting with the world. They are:      Problem Identification       Helplessness Identification    Seeking help unconditionally from a capable source. Seeking help is important because by living with the problem, one could be deluded and may not have the right disposition to find the solution. Since Arjuna is not fully prepared, Krishna prepares him to do his duty.   Bhagwad Gita# C...
Hi! This is Preeti Agarwal and I love doing something that adds a zing and meaning to my life. This blog has been created so that I can upload whatever I write as a small creation of my own or paraphrased or something I read somewhere and just want to follow it up. It contains some personal poetry, some table-mat designs and even my doodling art. I am loving the lock-down because it has given me something I would always cherish.
