Women are the largest
source of Untapped Potential in our country.
Indian Womanhood is at
crossroads today.
History is filled with
women who showed immense valour, grit and determination to savour the rights
and freedom of their territory. We have read stories about the Queen of Jhansi
and the courage she showed both on and off the field. Today’s woman is a perfect
home maker, CEO of companies, running TV shows, a bank employee, a pilot,
teaching children in school or at home, but somewhere deep down, things are
missing.
The hormones play a vital
role in the mood swings of women. Men and the respective families somehow don’t
notice what is happening to the females around them. The Indian women, a large
portion of whom are simple home makers, will work untiringly from early morning
to late night to serve each individual of the house and take care of the family
as a unit. She is not supposed to fall ill and if she does, she knows how to
handle it without asking for much. The biggest battle a woman wages is often on
the domestic front day after day which she can manoeuvre with utmost ease but
the battle, the fight within, often goes unnoticed. A large vacuum is created
once the children grow up and fly from their nests to make a bright future for
themselves. There is nothing more creative left for them to be done and sadness
starts dwelling in.
The other day I was
talking to a friend who acknowledged some of the highly talented women she
knows but the talent is still not known to many. She acclaimed that her mom and
mom’s mom, who were home makers like many of us, would have done exquisitely well in
the world of finances since they had the calibre but that quality went away
with them, unidentified. Her two very close friends are great artists but
somehow are tied up in the vicious cycle of looking after the grown-up adults
of the house.
During the lock-down, I
watched a couple of movies on amazon prime and one movie that left me
jaw-dropped was,’Thappad’ lead by Taapsee Pannu. She was a lovable, caring
woman who loves her family dearly but one slap changed everything in her life.
The dialogues she narrated can be related by any woman in our country.
I often used to discuss
it with my spiritual teacher who used to teach us about doing two things: one
developing a hobby while still young and the second one was getting associated
with an organisation. According to her, a woman largely understands her
capability when she associates with any organisation and more importantly takes
up some post. The hidden potentials are realised.
Half the home maker females I know don’t even know their talent. It goes
totally untapped and unexplored. Taking up commitments and delivering on time
is something to learnt from Indian ladies. They are super multi-talented and
know how to go about it. Only the work needs to be assigned. Rest you forget.
She’s impeccable, unstoppable and highly productive. I know of some women who
can cook the delicious halwa to fulfil the voracious desire of her in-laws and
at the same time play PS4 with her child and watch a football match with
husband doing some great piece of doodling to uplift her morale! A little lift
from the family and a gentle push can do wonders to these women. Believe me,
the happy hormones will be released in abundance, the confidence will get
boosted and the singing mode of the family will get activated.
So, my dear women, get up
and get going! Pat yourself and appreciate your doings!
Eventually you’ll be
comfortable with the person you are
Eventually you will grow
to appreciate the things about you are unique
Eventually you’ll stop
looking for acceptance in people that don’t love you
Eventually you’ll see
yourself and be perfectly content and a prouder you
Tap yourself and Be a
heroine of your life!!!
